Syrup font

I created this font a while back as part of my final major project at university.

I started with the largest piece of paper I could find in the house and laid it out on the dining room table. I sketched out the alphabet and then grabbed some squeezy syrup from the cupboard. I went over each letter with the syrup and left it to ooze for a few mins, before taking a photograph of each letter.

I uploaded the photographs to my Mac and spent some time tweaking them in Photoshop and layering them in to a single document. Using a curves adjustment layer to create a pure white background and a hue/saturation adjustment layer to alter the colours as I needed them to appear.

GOLD TYPEFACERED TYPEFACEGREEN TYPEFACE I used the lettering to create posters to accompany ‘The Art of Eavesdropping” book for my final major project in my 3rd year.
